....William Dixon Moore, 1965 president of the Truck Loggers’ Association, is a top notch logger, having been brought up in the logging and forestry business.

....Born October 8, 1922, in Vancouver, B.C., Bill Moore was graduated from the Prince of Wales High-school in Vancouver in 1940 and has made logging a career.
....Early logging until 1953, as Bill recalls, was done by A-frames in the area of Winter Harbour on Vancouver Island, B.C. He formed the W.D. Moore Log Co. Ltd. in 1948; and is a stump-to-dump contractor today for Rayonier Canada (B.C.) Ltd. which is the successor to

Alaska Pine, and before that B.C. Pulp & Paper. The Moore family has logged for this group for 52 continuous years.
....A family man, Bill Moore and his wife Beverley have three boys – Patrick 18, Bill 15, and Michael 11. Home to them is Downtown Winter Harbour.
....He joined the Truck Loggers Association in 1948 and became a director in 1956, vice president in 1962 and president in 1964. The boss logger of TLA is also a director of the Canadian Forestry Association.
....Bill Moore’s hobbies are badgering friends for stamps for three sons, and talking to people about logging and baseball. He is considered one of the worst violin players in the logging industry or anywhere. His favorite colour is Bikini Coral with which camp vehicles are painted.
